Dr. Finnius is a recurring character in the Frogger series. He is an archaeologist and Frogger's grandfather.

He is Frogger's grandfather and explorer extraordinaire. He made his first appearance in Frogger's Journey: The Forgotten Relic.

Frogger: Helmet Chaos[]

He plays a major supporting role in the game as its narrator. In some cutscenes, he summarizes the events as they take place. It isn't until Frogger vanquished Dr. Wani was it revealed that he was reading a bedtime story to his great-grandson the whole time. When asked if he can read the story again, Dr. Finnius humbly tells him that if he behaves himself the next day, the story will have a different ending. This may encourage the player to replay the game and decide on a different path for Frogger to travel. Depending on the choices they make, an alternate ending would depict Dr. Finnius taking off his mask, revealing himself to be Dr. Wani in disguise.

Frogger: Ancient Shadow[]

He is first mentioned in the intro cutscene when Frogger said he left a note at his house. This was a response to Lily asking if Frogger had seen him recently.

Frogger Decades[]

As of Version 1.0.1, he, along with Berry, were added as playable characters. He is sadly unable to swim like the other playable characters save for the latter.
