Frogger: Get Hoppin' is a skill based casino game developed and published by Konami for arcade platforms, released in 2017. Unlike previous Frogger casino titles, Get Hoppin' introduces both skill and luck elements to the game.

Features[]

  • Finger dexterity and skill combined with Frogger game mechanics.
  • 3 level stand-alone progressive game skill jackpots.
  • 4 level stand-alone progressive wheel bonus jackpots.
  • 8 credit minimum bet level option.

Gameplay[]

The game is a mix between an arcade Frogger game and a slot machine, with the top screen covering the slot and wheel aspects, while the bottom screen covers the arcade part.

After placing the initial wager, players can use the controls at the bottom of the screen to guide their frog through the various sections of road and river. As they move through the game, players will hit checkpoints and collect coins, all of which will add to their point totals. While the game's famous obstacles, like trucks and alligators, will still slow you down, they won't actually "kill" you; instead, you'll just be delayed a bit, and since you only have a limited amount of time to collect points, you'll want to move as fast as possible.

Once the arcade portion of the action ends, players will be tasked with choosing one of five lily pads. Four of these hold instant payouts, offering small rewards: anywhere from two to eight coins. However, the last one grants access to the bonus wheel, which resembles more like a casino slot machine. The wheel at the end only features the four progressive jackpots in the game and 10 other instant prizes, offering up to 80 credits. However, there are three milestone scores that will allow three of these instant win results to be upgraded to more progressive jackpot wins, improving your chances to walk away with a larger prize.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Frogger: Get Hoppin' was unveiled at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, following approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board opening up its regulations to allow businesses to test new gambling methods. This procedure, titled the "New Innovation Beta", enabled companies like Konami to test out gambling machines that blend both skill and luck.
