Frogger is a ticket redemption game developed by Innovative Concepts in Entertainment Inc. (ICE) in collaboration with Raw Thrills under license of Konami, released in 2011.
Overview[]
30 years have passed since Frogger's first release back in 1981. It is one of the most popular and recognizable video games ever made. Frogger has returned as a video redemption game. This two player interactive kid's game has quick coin game appeal and collections to back it up! Combined with the very best video technology and graphics on a 42″ high definition monitor with awesome eye catching cabinetry brings you the highest earning video redemption game ever.
Gameplay[]
Just like the original game, the object is to get from one side to the other without getting hit, and in addition to this collect as many bugs as possible along the way. The player earns tickets for bugs eaten along the way; and if they make it to the other side, a nice pile of bonus tickets await! Pressing the Start button begins the action. The player must time it right because once the frog begins to hop, you cannot stop it!
The game is displayed on a 45″ wide LCD screen, with the playfield resembling the classic Frogger arcade game. The layout is composed by an initial land section at the bottom and a river section at the top. The player is granted one or two frogs per credit (adjustable).
The game is played by pressing a single lily pad-shaped button at the beginning that can only be pushed when it lights up. Once the button is pressed, the player's Frogger character will automatically begin hopping forward without stopping (it cannot move sideways or backward) until it either falls into the water or reaches the end goal. Catching bugs along the way will earn the player tickets (amount adjustable). There are no hazards in the initial land section.
In the river section, the frog must avoid falling into the water by hopping on logs and turtles, and luckily reach a large lily pad on the other side to win the jackpot (amount adjustable). Rescuing Lily and catching butterflies in this section give bonus points.
