Frogger is a color LCD mini-arcade tabletop game developed and published by Basic Fun! under license of Konami and released in 2016. It is a conversion of the 1981 arcade hit video game Frogger.
Description[]
A tabletop mini-arcade cabinet conversion of the 1981 arcade hit video game Frogger. The machine is powered by three "AA" batteries. The cabinet is made of green plastic with dimensions of 5.75″ height × 4″ width × 2″ depth, and the bezel features many differently-sized Frogger sprites from the original 1981 arcade game. The cabinet features a vertically-oriented, four color LCD screen and a control panel with a four directional digital joystick and a big white Start/Pause button. On its front, the cabinet has two large red buttons that stand for the coin chutes of a real arcade cabinet, one to turn the machine on and off, and the other that controls the volume on three levels: loud, soft, and mute. While the cabinet has two speaker exits on the front, only the left one is real, so the sound output is monaural. The music score is completely different than that on the original arcade game (due to copyright issues).
The game itself is a simplified version of the original Frogger. There are only three lanes of both the highway and river sections (instead of five each), but otherwise, most of the arcade experience is faithfully recreated, although with the usual limitations of an LCD screen. The player's frog and all other items on the screen move one space at a time, which contrasts with the smoothness of the arcade original. The HUD on the top of the screen displays the player's current Score on the left corner and the Hi-Score on the right.
Gameplay[]
The objective of the game is to safely guide all frogs to the berths located at the top of the screen while avoiding all the hazards that are along the way. The frog first has to make it across a highway with heavy traffic and then cross a river without falling into the water by hopping on logs and turtles floating on it, as well as avoiding many natural predators.

Trivia[]
- This mini-arcade version of Frogger by Basic Fun! is also colloquially known as the "blister pack" version to differentiate it from the "box" version, another Frogger mini-arcade released by the same company the next year, and which features an actual video game version of the game instead.
- Besides the cabinet colors and technology involved, one of the most notable differences between these two mini-arcade cabinets is that the 2016 version has the joystick on the center of the control panel, while the 2017 version has it on the left.
- Likely due to the technology involved, the "blister pack" version is usually less expensive than the "box" version.
