All 25 Treasures in Frogger: Ancient Shadow

Treasures are a group of collectables in Frogger: Ancient Shadow. They are found within chests in stages or are purchased from Mohan's Shop. However, if the player wishes to collect all 25 treasures in the game, they must beat it at least once, as some are only available during a subsequent playthrough. The player can see every treasure they've collected so far by looking at the blue cabinet on the first floor of Frogger's House.

List of Treasures[]

The treasures listed are in order as they appear in the cabinet in Frogger's House, not by availability. Any treasures marked with an asterisk (*) are only available after beating the game once. Treasures marked by a "D" are available before completing the game for the first time, but are not obtainable until after the revival of Doom's Temple, or in other words, after defeating the boss of the Elder Ruins.

Trivia[]

  • The Lion Statue could potentially allude to the king of the Lion Tribe, who, after assisting in the defeat of the Ancient Wani Tribe, was given the Amulet of Mastery.
  • The Piece of Mural Treasure seems to depict Tukuku and another similar looking frog. This seems to be the only instance of a frog that looks like Tukuku in the game, as even his descendant does not share a whole lot of visual similarities to him.
  • The patterns on the Horippa Cikir's Statue treasure are said to hold magical powers. These may have a connection to the green designs on Tukuku's own body, meaning that they too could hold magical properties.
  • Not counting the Sketches, the Ancient Frog King Masks treasure is the only instance in the game where the boss of the Elder Ruins is named.
  • In spite of its description, the Gold mini croc statue is not obtained from the Shop.
  • The word 'promise' that is etched on the Minature Monument treasure, may reference a promise that Tukuku and Igunis have made. It could allude to many things, but it most likely references Igunis promising to protect Firefly Swamp, as mentioned in the ending cutscene of the game.
  • According to the Ancient Wani Tribe's king's statue treasure, the first king of the Ancient Wani Tribe is the one who built Doom's Temple.
    • This additionally may mean that the first king of the Ancient Wani Tribe was also the first to hold both amulets and begin their violent conquest on Firefly Swamp.
  • The Angel's Tear treasure seems to be a smaller kind of seed that is used to deal damage to The Big One during its boss fight.
  • The Wing Statue is the most expensive treasure in the game, requiring both the final wallet upgrade and max coins to purchase.
  • The 'Thank you' trophy, in spite of its description, is not cheap, nor is it the cheapest treasure the player can obtain from the Shop. That title would go to the "Toy sword and shield" treasure.
    • The Pot of Mega-Luck costs 250 coins, just like the 'Thank you' trophy. Amusingly, the Pot of Mega-Luck's description states that it costs a lot with no real use, and that it's a scam.
  • The Egyptian Frogger Statue and Ancient Lamp seem to reference Frogger and Lumpy, in spite of the fact that they seem to hail from time periods far before these two characters may have been born.
  • The Toy sword and shield are replicas of the weapons that the Twin Gatekeepers use in their boss fight. Additionally, their description states that either their weapons or Crocodite itself is indestructible.
    • If the treasure's description is in reference to Crocodite, then it raises the question as to how it is/was fashioned into weapons or the amulets themselves.
  • According to the Red-eyed statue, ancient Wani predators' eyes glow/flash red in the presence of prey. There are some interesting things of note about this.
    • Both Papa Lion and Igunis have glowing red eyes while under the effects of the Amulet of Mastery. Their features become much sharper, like other Ancient Wani tribesman and, according to Sketch 12 of Area 2, it unleashes their "feral instincts".
    • Wani and Igunis, despite being Wani tribesman/a descendant of one themselves, do not naturally exhibit this trait in game. However, the other Ancient Wani Tribesman, such as the Twin Gatekeepers seem to always exhibit this. This may have something to do with renouncing ones violent nature, as Igunis says something similar when he formally meets Frogger.
    • The capitalization of "ancient" instead of "Ancient" may simply be a mistake, but raises an interesting distinction. This may mean that reptilians as a whole shared this trait, but may have lost it over time.
