The VG Pocket Tablet is a portable VT09 handheld video gaming system distributed by PDP and Pelican Accessories in 2006. It is a part of the VG Pocket line of handhelds. The console is self-contained, as there is no cartridge slot, but rather it is pre-loaded with 25 games, all of which were developed by Chinese company JungleTac.
It features the original port of Frogger developed by JungleTac.
Description[]
The VG Pocket Tablet has a round tablet-shaped design and comes in four color variants: green, white, red, and orange. It is powered by three "AAA" batteries. Its screen is a very bright 2″ backlit 640×240 TFT display, and various reviewers commented on its high quality. The unit has a port that allows connectivity to television via a standard analog RCA port. The cable was available with the purchase of a separate accessory kit (sold for $9.99) that included a storage carrying case and AV hookup cables, also used for portable DVD players.
The VG Pocket Tablet originally sold for $29.99, but was later dropped to $19.99 along with the VG Pocket Caplet.
The preloaded games are either remakes or clones of classic arcade and 8-bit console games.
